The homey phrasing's cute
But the words are not true!
It's just a web of fine embroidery
They say we’re all being led
Like lemmings off of a roof
But they neglect to offer empirical proof
It's just more of that that fine embroidery
They love to take center stage
And tell some little white lies
Their version of the book’s
The only one that applies
They’ve got a plan and a chart
But they distorted the math
They wave a flag and march
Down a perilous path
I will choose a leader who does not need to tell lies
I refuse the zeroes who split and polarize
Let’s ignore the jeerers who never
Apologize for mistakes
They can’t admit that they made
Their only counsel is to be very afraid
And who they pick for a friend
Depends on what they believe
Is that a hate card falling out of their sleeve?
Bring on the heroes
The just and the wise
Let’s lose the zeroes
Who can’t win a fight without lies
